The key idea is matching a high-flow filtration unit to the Marine Corps fuel systems that need to move large amounts of fuel quickly in expeditionary conditions. The 600 GPM filters are built for use in systems like the amphibious assault fuel system (AAFS), which moves bulk fuel from ships ashore, and the Tactical Airfield Fuel Dispensing System (TAFDS), which supports refueling at forward airfields. This combination ensures clean fuel is delivered to aircraft and equipment under demanding field conditions.

The unit’s design includes two filter canisters containing a total of seven replaceable filter elements. This setup provides redundancy and allows staged filtration, with elements arranged to remove particulates and water to protect engines and fuel systems. Having two canisters also enables maintenance on one side while the other continues to filter, which is crucial in the field where downtime must be minimized.

Other options don’t fit because they reference different fuel systems or configurations that don’t match the high-flow, dual-canister, seven-element arrangement of this 600 GPM unit.
